Jun 30, 2017 SCCM Current Branch Secondary Site is stuck in 'Pending' State by h4mbone on Jun 30, 2017 at 12:20 UTC Microsoft SQL Server. Mar 11, 2019 - Configuration Manager site server log files. Invproc.log, Records the forwarding of MIF files from a secondary site to its parent site.
So the first issue I noticed is that device in the SCCM console has a question mark beside it instead of a green check mark. I remoted into the server and the Configuration Manager Properties says it is not using a client cert which every client we have is using a cert. I then pushed a reinstall of the client and I got the same results in the end.
Has anyone had this issue with their Secondary Site?
Edit:
Examples that of items that are not correct for the secondary site
- Software Center just says IT Organization instead of the company name.
- In the configuration manager properties not all components are enabled.
- It doesn't look like SCEP is installed on the server either
But servers and clients that are at the site are good.

Hi All
In short, i have been an administrator for SCCM at our site for the last 3 years. I have some experience with SCCM, but it seems everyday you can learn something new.
So, i recently had the issue of a secondary site 'magically' loosing its SQL instance, database and all. So what now? After some googling, couldn't find a decent enough answer, so i went ahead and followed my own testing, and i thought it would be useful to post what i found :)
First of all, note that our secondary sites have very limited bandwidth, and anything pulling traffic gets flagged immediately.
My steps to getting a healthy working site again, was to do a Recover Secondary Site via the console. After going through the prereq stage, it came up with some errors, including that there was an existing SQL instance(though there was none), and that the site already has the MP role installed.
To get around this, i removed the SQL folder completely from c:program filesMicrosoft SQL, and also the SMS regkey from HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftSMS. After a reboot, i did the Retry Secondary site from the console, and got happiness and joy after that.
Any comments or better steps would be appreciated
